Driving into the Future: Google’s Gemini AI Integration in Your Vehicle
Google Enhances Gemini AI in Cars with Personal Intelligence
Google has introduced a new update that brings Personal Intelligence to Gemini AI in your car. This update allows Gemini in Android Auto and cars with Google built-in to access information from various Google apps such as Gmail, Calendar, Maps, Photos, YouTube, and Search.
For instance, users can now ask Gemini about their flight status while driving to the airport. Gemini can retrieve flight details from a confirmation message in Gmail and provide the status. Additionally, users can ask Gemini to navigate to their doctor’s appointment or find a specific location from a photo taken last week.
To ensure privacy, Google will only connect your apps to Gemini if you enable the Personal Intelligence setting. Personalized responses will be shared only when your phone is connected to the car. Google emphasizes that even without Personal Intelligence, basic functions like navigation, music playback, calls, and general queries will still be available in the car.
The rollout of Personal Intelligence has begun on Android Auto, with support for cars with Google built-in expected in the coming months.
