BMW Centennial Celebration: Nürburgring Editions of the M2, M3, M4, and M5

BMW is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Nürburgring by introducing a special edition that includes six M cars and three M motorcycles. The highlight of this edition is the historic Nürburgring Green color, exclusively developed for this occasion. The motorcycles are limited to only 100 units worldwide, while there is no production limit for the cars.

The Nürburgring, which opened on June 18, 1927, holds a special place in BMW’s heart as it is where BMW M conducts a significant amount of its development work. Frank van Meel, the CEO of BMW M GmbH, emphasized the importance of the Nordschleife track, stating that all production vehicles undergo testing on this iconic circuit.

The special edition includes six M cars: the G87 M2, G80 M3 Sedan, G81 M3 Touring, G82 M4 Coupé, G90 M5 Sedan, and G99 M5 Touring. The signature Nürburgring Green color is featured on all cars, with the option to choose Black Sapphire metallic with green accents. Each car is adorned with unique painted graphics, embroidered headrests, and edition-specific roof stripes.

Inside, the cars boast black leather interiors with green and white contrast stitching, as well as a Nürburgring silhouette embroidered on the front headrests. The M2, M3, and M4 models also come equipped with an M Alcantara steering wheel, while the M5 variants feature an M leather steering wheel.

The M2, M3, and M4 models are equipped with the new M Ignite technology, a pre-chamber ignition system for the S58 twin-turbo inline-six engine. This technology improves efficiency, reduces fuel consumption, and ensures compliance with Euro 7 regulations without compromising performance.

On the motorcycle side, BMW offers the M 1000 RR, M 1000 R, and M 1000 XR, limited to 100 units each. These bikes come with the M Track Package, green paint, carbon wheels, anniversary decals, and unique embroidered seats.

Orders for the M3 Sedan, M3 Touring, M4 Coupé, M5 Sedan, and M5 Touring editions are currently open, with the M2 set to follow in January 2027. Motorcycle orders will open on October 19, 2026. Pricing and availability details for these special editions are yet to be announced by BMW.
