California Highway Patrol Unveils Last Chevrolet Camaro in Fleet
The California Highway Patrol Unveils Final Chevrolet Camaro for Fleet
The Chevrolet Camaro, despite ending production almost three years ago, is making a comeback in the form of the latest addition to the California Highway Patrol’s fleet.
Recently showcased on Instagram, the new black-and-white patrol car is based on the Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE model, providing it with significantly enhanced performance features compared to traditional police vehicles.
Embellished with the iconic CHP livery, the Camaro features red and blue emergency lights integrated into the front grille and side skirts, as well as a roof-mounted light bar. The addition of a large whip antenna further enhances its classic police car appearance.
Powering the Camaro is Chevrolet’s 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine, delivering an impressive 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque. The presence of red brake calipers signifies the vehicle’s performance-oriented design.
