Capcom Introduces Game-Changing Update for Dragon’s Dogma 2

Players of Dragon’s Dogma 2 have long voiced their frustrations with the game’s fast travel system, and Capcom has listened. The latest update, Dark Arisen, introduces a game-changing addition called the Eternal Ferrystone, which grants unlimited fast travel.

Upon meeting Brant during the Seat of the Sovran quest, players will receive the Eternal Ferrystone early in their adventure. Existing players will also find this new item automatically added to their inventory.

Previously, fast travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2 was limited to consumable Ferrystones and a few scattered Portcrystals. While this system encouraged exploration, many players found it cumbersome during extended play sessions.

To address this issue, Capcom has not only introduced the Eternal Ferrystone but also added more Portcrystal locations and allowed players to activate Ferrystones directly from the map screen. These changes significantly reduce the need for backtracking, making travel more convenient for players.

Alongside the travel overhaul, several quality-of-life improvements have been implemented. Players can now enjoy a free camera in Photo Mode, disable certain pawn interactions, and benefit from cheaper inn and barber services. Additionally, pawns now have a new Guardian specialization to help protect adventurers from surprise attacks.

Looking ahead, Capcom has confirmed that another major update is scheduled for August, with the highly anticipated “Dark Arisen” expansion expected to launch later this year.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 was originally released in March 2024 for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
