Apple has recently unveiled a range of new smart home accessories called the Apple Home Collection, created in collaboration with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. This collection includes various devices such as video doorbells, cameras, thermostats, temperature sensors, and smart deadbolt door locks, all designed to work seamlessly with Apple’s new home hub. Setting up these accessories is simple, requiring just a single tap on your iPhone. They are managed through the Apple Home app and Siri, with no separate app or account necessary. Each accessory communicates using end-to-end encryption, ensuring that only authorized users can access home data.

Matthew Costello, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering, emphasized the simplicity and reliability of the Apple Home Collection, stating that the accessories were designed to work seamlessly with Apple Home for easy home management. The accessories are made from premium materials, featuring a minimal aesthetic that complements Apple products.

The Apple Home Collection includes:

  • LG Video Doorbell ($249.95) — This doorbell has dual cameras, a 2.5K resolution front camera, HD resolution bottom camera, built-in spotlight, and a chime that plays through various Apple devices.
  • LG Floodlight Cam ($399.95) — Equipped with dual floodlights that activate upon motion detection and low-light color night vision for clearer outdoor monitoring.
  • LG Outdoor Cam ($299.95) — Offers flexible outdoor coverage with low-light color night vision and easy angle adjustment.
  • LG Indoor Cam ($199.95) — Features a privacy-preserving tilt function that adjusts the view based on user presence and can be controlled through geofencing or the Home app.

  • LG Smart Deadbolt Lock ($349.95) — Utilizes ultra-wideband (UWB) technology for automatic unlocking, PIN entry, or backup key slot access. It works seamlessly with the doorbell for integrated functionality.
  • LG Thermostat ($199.95) — Supports Adaptive Temperature scheduling and temperature/humidity monitoring across multiple rooms using standalone sensors or built-in device sensors.
  • Schneider Electric Thermostat ($199.95) — Offers similar features as the LG model, including Adaptive Temperature support and compatibility with additional sensors.

The video doorbell and cameras are compatible with HomeKit Secure Video, allowing users to view live streams, recordings, and AI activity summaries through the Home app with an iCloud+ plan.

The Apple Home Collection will be available for purchase in December on apple.com/store, the Apple Store app, and Apple Store locations, with select accessories launching in early 2027.
