Eindhoven's Keiron raises €20.7 million to tackle one of electronics manufacturing’s most expensive problems

Keiron Printing Technologies, a leading DeepTech company based in Eindhoven, has successfully secured a Series A funding round of €20.7 million. The investment was co-led by Invest-NL, DeepTechXL, and Waves Capital, with participation from existing and new investors such as Ramphastos Investments, ATUM Ventures, Cottonwood Technology Fund, and TNO Ventures.

The CEO and founder of Keiron Printing Technologies, Paul Rooimans, expressed his excitement about the funding round, stating that it will enable the company to address a long-standing issue in the industry. He emphasized the importance of their technology, Laser-Induced Forward Transfer (LiFT) precision solder paste printing, in revolutionizing the electronics manufacturing sector.

Established in 2019 as a spin-off from TNO Holst Centre, Keiron’s primary goal is to enable autonomous and self-optimizing electronics manufacturing processes with enhanced quality, speed, and flexibility. The company specializes in serving the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) industry with its groundbreaking LiFT industrialized inline platform, which is recognized as the world’s first fully digital, contactless solder-paste printing solution.

Keiron aims to address a significant challenge in the electronics manufacturing sector – solder paste printing. This process has been a major contributor to PCB assembly defects, limiting the reliability, speed, and yield of electronics manufacturers worldwide. Keiron’s innovative HF2 LiFT Printer eliminates this problem by introducing a digital, non-contact platform that significantly improves production efficiency and yield rates.

The company’s technology has been instrumental in enhancing first-pass yield rates, reducing production lead times, and improving overall production uptime. By replacing traditional stencil and jet printing methods with a digital solution, Keiron has set a new standard in precision solder paste printing.
