Samsung has introduced a revolutionary set of technologies in its latest camera system, including the groundbreaking DeepPix technology, aiming to redefine the way light is captured. This innovation also enhances HDR performance at all zoom levels, offers single-frame 16-bit HDR, and provides stunning 4K video capabilities at an impressive 180fps for slow-motion footage.

DeepPix, a new pixel structure developed by Samsung, focuses on improving Full Well Capacity (FWC) by utilizing advanced Front Deep Trench Isolation (FDTI). This technology expands photodiode capacity and shared floating diffusion, leading to a 60% increase in single-pixel FWC compared to the previous generation.

Although sharing core specifications with the primary module in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, including a 1/1.3-inch sensor with 0.6μm pixels and Super Quad Phase-Detection autofocus, the enhancements in the new camera module are substantial.

While expectations were high for the new camera to debut in the Galaxy S27 series, it is primarily designed for other smartphone manufacturers to integrate into their devices. Mass production has already commenced, and upcoming phones from Vivo, Xiaomi, and Oppo are likely to feature this cutting-edge technology.

In a strategic business move, Samsung is rumored to equip the Galaxy S27 with the ISOCELL HP6 module, omitting one camera to streamline costs. This module is anticipated to be a 200Mp at 1/1.3-inch sensor, offering similar enhancements to the HPC module, ensuring a compelling camera experience for users.
