John Ternus’ first big problem is AI

Apple’s New CEO John Ternus Aims to Accelerate Product Launches

In a recent report by Bloomberg, it has been revealed that John Ternus, the new CEO of Apple, is keen on changing the company’s traditional product launch schedule. Ternus is determined to introduce new products more frequently than the bi-annual events typically held in the fall and spring.

According to Bloomberg, Ternus believes that Apple needs to innovate at a faster pace and embrace more experimentation to stay ahead in the era of artificial intelligence. Despite this vision, the transition may take some time due to Apple’s well-established development processes. However, the tech giant is rumored to have an array of new products in the works, including a HomePod Mini, iPad Mini, Apple TV 4K, AirPods with cameras, touchscreen MacBooks, and a special 20th anniversary iPhone.

In addition to speeding up product launches, Ternus is contemplating streamlining communication within Apple by reducing barriers between engineers and top executives. Recent reports from Bloomberg indicate that the hardware engineering team at Apple has let go of several engineering program managers in the past few weeks. This move follows earlier layoffs in Apple’s Siri and Vision Pro teams, as reported by Bloomberg in August. The company also pondered downsizing its AppleCare customer service staff by 5,000 employees but ultimately decided against it.
