The Halide Camera App Revolutionizes iPhone 18 Pro Photography with Full Aperture Control

Lux Optics has released a new update for their Halide camera app, enhancing its functionality on the latest iPhone 18 Pro models. This update introduces two new photography looks and support for the variable aperture feature on the main camera. While other third-party camera apps have also incorporated this feature, Halide stands out by offering more precise control over aperture settings.

Unlike the native iOS camera app, which only provides four aperture presets, Halide allows users to adjust aperture settings from f/1.48 to f/4.0. This level of control surpasses other apps like BlackMagic Camera and Moment Pro Camera II, which offer 10 presets in 1/3 stop increments. The developers of Halide are open to user feedback and may introduce additional f-stop presets in future updates.

Earlier this year, Halide Mark III was launched with new features such as a film simulation engine and various photography looks. The latest update includes a new Dawn look, which adds warmth to mid-tones and highlights, as well as Quicksilver, a high-contrast look with muted colors inspired by silver-retention processes.
