The Return of the Dragon: Dark Arisen
Capcom Announces Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Expansion
Capcom has revealed exciting news for fans of Dragon’s Dogma, with the upcoming release of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on Nintendo Switch 2. Additionally, the Dark Arisen Expansion is set to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, either as a standalone DLC or as part of a combined package with the base game. The highly anticipated release date for Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is scheduled for October 9, 2026.
The Dark Arisen Expansion, named after the enhanced version of the original game, promises to introduce similar enhancements and new content to elevate the gaming experience.
Players can look forward to exploring the new Northern region of Norgan alongside Eir, as they uncover the mysteries surrounding a Fallen Dragon. The expansion will also introduce the ability to discover and evaluate forgotten relics to acquire new weapons and skills. Moreover, gamers can challenge themselves with twelve Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges and enjoy updated options in the Character Creator, including new hairstyles and tattoos.
Prior to the release of the Dark Arisen Expansion, Capcom will roll out two significant updates for existing platforms to enhance gameplay. The recent update has already made fast travel more convenient by introducing the reusable Eternal Ferrystone and various quality of life improvements. Another update is planned for August, promising improved frame rates and additional save slots.
Given the demanding nature of the game, particularly on the original launch, these optimizations are crucial to ensure a smooth gaming experience, especially on the Switch 2. Despite the technical challenges, the quality of Dragon’s Dogma 2 shines through, as highlighted in a review by Jason. He describes the game as a masterpiece that encourages players to explore every corner and embrace unexpected encounters along the way.
