Apple TV’s The Hunt finally has a premiere date

Apple Announces Premiere Date for “The Hunt” Series

Apple revealed that the highly anticipated series “The Hunt”, produced by French studio Gaumont and directed by Cédric Anger, is set to premiere on March 4th. This announcement follows a period of delays triggered by plagiarism allegations raised by French media reporter Clement Garin.

The controversy stemmed from the striking similarities between “The Hunt” and “Shoot”, a novel by Douglas Fairbairn from 1973. Both stories revolve around groups of hunters who become suspicious of each other during a wilderness expedition. The accusations led to a postponement of the original December 3rd release date on Apple TV.

Gaumont conducted an internal investigation and acknowledged that “The Hunt” is based on Fairbairn’s work. Apple now officially refers to the series as a Cédric Anger adaptation of the novel “Shoot”. Gaumont emphasized its commitment to respecting intellectual property rights and promptly sought authorization for the adaptation.

While “The Hunt” has resolved its copyright issues, Apple has not provided updates on the status of “The Savant”, a crime drama initially delayed due to real-life events. The release of “The Savant” may still be pending, although Apple’s release schedule appears to be back on track with “The Hunt”.
