iOS 26.4: Here's when Apple will release the first beta

The latest release of iOS, iOS 26.4 beta 2, has been made available to developers one week after the initial beta launch. This update brings further enhancements to new features and changes for iPhone users, including updates to RCS encryption, the Games app, and more.

iOS 26.4 beta 2 is currently accessible for developer beta testing, with a public beta expected to be released later this week. The build number for this update is 23E5218e.

As previously reported, iOS 26.4 introduces over 40 modifications for iPhone users, including new features for Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and more.

One notable addition in iOS 26.4 beta 2 is the expansion of RCS encryption testing to include messaging between iPhone and Android devices. This feature is currently in beta testing and not yet available to all devices or carriers. Conversations labeled as encrypted will be end-to-end encrypted, ensuring that messages cannot be intercepted during transmission.

Another noteworthy change is the introduction of a new toggle named “Reduce Highlighting Effects” in the Accessibility menu under Display & Text Size settings. This toggle aims to minimize the visual effects around the edges of buttons and sliders.

In terms of app updates, iOS 26.4 beta 2 has redesigned the UI of the Games app, similar to the changes made in the App Store in beta 1.

Additional small UI tweaks have been implemented in iOS 26.4 beta 2, including dark mode adjustments in Control Center menu popups and interface enhancements in the Account Hub of the App Store.

As more features are discovered in iOS 26.4 beta 2, this article will be updated accordingly. If you come across any new additions, feel free to share them in the comments section.
