The End of an Era: Kia Soul Discontinued After 15 Years of Production

Since its introduction in the early 2010s, the Kia Soul has been a popular choice among consumers. However, with the debut of its third generation in 2020, the once-iconic car began to lose its appeal in the market. Now, Kia has officially announced the discontinuation of the Soul, marking the end of an era for this beloved model.

The first generation of the Kia Soul was introduced in 2010, with production taking place in South Korea. Over the years, more than 1.5 million units of the Soul have been sold in the US. The 2025 model of the Kia Soul will be the final iteration of this once-popular boxy hatchback.

In 2024, Kia sold a total of 52,397 units of the Soul, and by the third quarter of 2025, production had reached 40,408 units. These figures surpass the sales of several other Kia models, highlighting the Soul’s popularity among consumers.

With a starting price of $21,935, the 2025 Kia Soul was one of the most affordable options in Kia’s lineup. Following its discontinuation, the entry-level position will be filled by the Kia K4, which will be priced at $32,185.

As Kia has confirmed that only a limited number of Soul units are still available at dealerships, particularly in the United States, enthusiasts of the model are advised to act quickly to secure their desired vehicle before it is completely phased out of the market.
