State-of-the-Art Facilities

ARIES houses advanced research facilities that offer capabilities from fabrication to prototyping for industry and government applications. Key facilities include:

MUSiC– The National Multi-User Silicon Carbide Research and Fabrication Laboratory enables researchers to explore breakthroughs in wide bandgap semiconductor technology.

HiDEC – The High-Density Electronics Center provides essential resources and training for next-generation technology leadership.

NCREPT – The National Center for Reliable Electric Power Transmission investigates solid-state solutions for electrified transportation and the power grid.

Margaret Sova McCabe, Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, highlighted ARIES as a comprehensive research ecosystem that spans from basic materials to electronic systems, with applications in quantum, security, and energy fields. ARIES aims to establish Arkansas and the U.S. as a hub for semiconductor and power electronics manufacturing.
