Xiaomi Reveals Vision GT Electric Hypercar for Gran Turismo 7 Debut

In the past, my knowledge of Xiaomi was limited to their budget smartphones and smart home devices. However, the company has now ventured into the world of electric cars, with one of their latest creations being the SU7, featured in the popular Grand Turismo game.

The introduction of the SU7 set the stage for Xiaomi’s latest innovation, the Vision Gran Turismo. This sleek two-door electric hypercar is designed for the digital tracks of Gran Turismo 7, known as one of the top racing simulators in the gaming world.

The Xiaomi Vision GT marks China’s first entry into the Vision GT series, alongside renowned brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche. This achievement was made possible by Kazunori Yamauchi, the mastermind behind Gran Turismo, who extended an invitation to Xiaomi to participate in this project.

According to Xiaomi, the Vision GT is built on a 900-volt silicon carbide platform and boasts a design that prioritizes aerodynamics. Every aspect of the car’s body is meticulously crafted to enhance performance.

One of the standout features of the Xiaomi Vision GT is its teardrop-shaped cockpit, reminiscent of a jet fighter. The car boasts a unique seating arrangement with a “cocoon-shaped sofa” for the driver, a Formula 1-inspired steering yoke, and a panoramic display integrated at the base of the windshield.

Despite lacking ostentatious aerodynamic elements, the Xiaomi Vision GT’s design embodies a fluid aesthetic, earning it the moniker “built by the wind.” The strategic placement of cross headlights, venturi tunnels, and front air-channel intakes ensures optimal airflow, cooling the 900V electric powertrain and carbon-ceramic braking system while enhancing downforce and stability.

Soon, this extraordinary vehicle will be available for players to experience in Grand Turismo 7, with a physical display currently showcased at the Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona.
