Subaru Teases New Electric SUV Ahead of New York Auto Show

Subaru is gearing up to unveil a highly anticipated new electric SUV at the upcoming New York Auto Show. The Japanese automaker recently teased the new model with mysterious images that showcase the vehicle cruising along a picturesque oceanside road.

The teaser photos provide a glimpse of what to expect from the latest addition to Subaru’s electric vehicle lineup. The new model is set to feature distinctive six-pod daytime running lights, similar to those seen on other Subaru EVs like the Uncharted, Trailseeker, and Solterra. Additionally, the SUV will boast an illuminated front logo and roof rails for added style and functionality.

Subaru has also provided some insights into the new electric SUV’s powertrain. The vehicle will come equipped with a standard all-wheel-drive system powered by two electric motors, delivering a total output of 420 horsepower. This makes it the most powerful Subaru model available straight from the factory.

In terms of seating capacity, the upcoming Subaru electric SUV may offer room for more than five passengers. The company’s emphasis on the word “family” in its press release hints at a spacious interior that could potentially accommodate a third row of seating, a first for Subaru vehicles.

More details, including the official name of the new model, will be unveiled during its global debut at the New York International Auto Show on April 1, 2026, at 10 a.m. ET. Stay tuned for updates on Subaru’s latest innovation in the electric vehicle market.
