Enhancing Collaboration: Google Meet’s AI Note-Taking for Seamless In-Person Meetings
Google’s AI Meeting Notetaker Expands to In-Person Meetings on Zoom and Microsoft Teams
Google’s AI meeting notetaker, Gemini, has recently received an update that allows it to generate summaries and transcripts for in-person meetings, including those on Zoom and Microsoft Teams. This expansion goes beyond its initial functionality limited to Google Meets, as reported by 9to5Google.
Support for In-Person Meetings Extended Beyond Alpha Users
Previously, support for in-person meetings was restricted to alpha users and only accessible on Android devices. Google’s support page for this feature mentions that users not physically present can still join the meeting through a regular video call. This feature is also suitable for impromptu meetings, allowing users to initiate recordings without the need for a formal meeting setting.
Easy Note-Taking for Any Meeting Situation
Users can now initiate note-taking on the Google Meet platform, whether the meeting is in-person or on a different platform. By selecting “take notes for me” on the Google Meet homepage, users can start recording discussions. Gemini will then compile a summary and action items from the meeting into a Google Doc, conveniently stored in Google Drive for easy access.
