Gemini can now pull from Google Photos to generate personalized images

Google’s Personal Intelligence Feature Now Utilizes Nano Banana 2 Image Model

Google has enhanced its Personal Intelligence feature, allowing Gemini to extract data from apps like Google Photos to provide personalized responses. This feature now leverages the Nano Banana 2 image model to generate images based on individual contexts.

Tailored Image Creation Based on Personal Preferences

Users can now request specific image creations such as “Design my dream house” or “Create a picture of my desert island essentials.” The images generated by Gemini will automatically reflect the user’s unique tastes and lifestyle, derived from connected Google apps. According to Google, this integration utilizes labels in Google Photos to identify individuals similar to the user, including friends and family.

Privacy Measures and Data Usage

Google assures users that opting in to Personal Intelligence will not involve direct training of AI models on their private Google Photos library. However, the models are trained on limited information such as specific prompts within Gemini and the resulting model responses.

Rollout and Availability

The feature is scheduled to be gradually rolled out to eligible AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in the US over the next few days. It will initially be available on Gemini for Chrome desktop users and will expand to a wider user base in the near future.
