Microsoft might have just leaked Forza Horizon 6’s release date

The Leak of Forza Horizon 6: A Pre-Release Controversy

Over the weekend, the full version of Playground Games’ highly anticipated game, Forza Horizon 6, was leaked online and subsequently cracked by pirates. This unauthorized release occurred ahead of the game’s official launch date of May 19th for Xbox Series S / X and PC. The leak, which involved a file size of over 150GB, was discovered by Reddit users before being swiftly removed by the platform’s legal team.

Playground Games, the developer behind Forza Horizon 6, released a statement acknowledging the leak and vowing to take action against those responsible. The studio emphasized that the leak was not due to a pre-load issue and promised to enforce strict penalties, including bans, against anyone found accessing the leaked build.

“We are aware of reports that a build of Forza Horizon 6 has been obtained prior to its release and can confirm this is not the result of a pre-load issue. We are taking strict enforcement action against any individuals found accessing this build including franchise-wide and hardware bans. We encourage fans to sit tight for the game’s release on May 19.”

Interestingly, this incident echoes a similar situation earlier in the year with the pre-release version of Death Stranding 2 on PC. Despite Playground Games clarifying that there was no Steam pre-load issue involved in the leak, the source of the breach remains unknown.

Forza Horizon 6 promises an exciting gaming experience, with players venturing into Japan and exploring the vibrant sights of Tokyo. Boasting the largest map in the Forza Horizon series and a roster of over 550 cars at launch, the game is highly anticipated by fans. Additionally, efforts are underway to bring Forza Horizon 6 to PS5 later this year, expanding its reach to a wider audience.
