Superhuman, the renowned email provider that rebranded under its current name after being acquired by Grammarly, recently made a significant acquisition announcement. The three-year-old AI detection startup, GPTZero, founded by Princeton graduate Edward Tian as a senior thesis project, has joined forces with Superhuman in a move that is set to revolutionize the AI detection industry.

Tian and his co-founder, CTO Alex Cui, who have been friends since high school, successfully raised funding rounds to support their vision. They secured a $3.5 million seed round led by Uncork Capital, followed by a $10 million Series A in June 2024, with notable investors such as Nikhil Basu Trivedi of Footwork, Reach Capital, Alt Capital led by Jack Altman, and Neo. In total, the company raised $13.5 million to fuel its growth and innovation.
