iOS 27 Introduces Separate Volume Settings for Alarms, Alerts, and System Sounds

iOS 27 brings a significant enhancement for users, allowing them to set individual volume levels for ringtones, alerts, alarms, and system sounds. This new feature provides more control and customization options for sound settings.

More Control Over Different System Sounds and Alerts

Apple unveiled iOS 27 with a plethora of new features and improvements, including the ability to adjust volume settings for various sound categories independently.

One of the notable additions is the option to set separate volume levels for alarms and timers, as well as alerts and system sounds, without affecting the ringtone volume.

Previously, iOS used a unified sound setting for both ringtones and alerts. With iOS 27, users can now customize the volume for ringtones, alarms and timers, and alerts and system sounds individually.

Apple clarifies that toggling off the “Match Ringtone Volume” option for alarms and timers ensures that the volume settings do not impact Wake-Up alarm and other alarms with their own volume controls.

Regarding alerts and system sounds, the new setting covers sounds for incoming texts, as well as system sounds like keyboard clicks and camera shutter noises.

While individual alarm volume control is not available yet, iOS 27 offers a more personalized sound experience for users seeking the perfect balance between ringtone, alert, and alarm volumes.
