Outward 2 Delayed: Developer Nine Dots Studio Postpones Early Access Release

Following the recent open beta launch of Outward 2, Nine Dots Studio has made the difficult decision to delay the game’s early access release. The highly-anticipated open-world survival action RPG sequel, originally set for a July 7th debut, will now see its release date pushed back to 2027. The specific timing for the launch will be announced at a later date.

When Outward 2 eventually hits the market, it will be available for Windows PC users through platforms such as Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. Gamers can expect an immersive experience in this sequel, and anticipation continues to build as fans eagerly await its release.

The Nine Dots Studio team shared their thoughts on the delay in a heartfelt message to their community:

Hi everyone,

Despite our recent trailer inviting players to explore Aurai during the summer, we have come to the difficult realization that sticking to our original plan for the game’s release may not meet the high expectations of our fans. We value your feedback, and after considering the comments from our beta testers, we have decided to take more time to further develop Outward 2 before its official launch.

We understand that this news may come as a disappointment, especially to those who had planned their summer around the game’s initial release date. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused, but our priority is to deliver a polished and satisfying gaming experience that lives up to the standards set by the first Outward installment.

As we reflect on the game’s current state and the feedback we have received, we aim to make significant improvements that will earn the trust and appreciation of our players. Your support has been invaluable to us, and we are committed to ensuring that Outward 2 exceeds your expectations when it finally launches.

Thank you to all who participated in the beta testing and provided valuable insights. Your feedback has been instrumental in shaping the future of the game. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we strive to deliver a game that you truly deserve.

Sincerely,

Guillaume AKA Gheeyom

CEO and Creative Director, Nine Dots Studio
