RuneScape’s Latest Update Revamps Player-Owned Housing

RuneScape is undergoing a significant home improvement update, with a focus on player-owned housing. This update, which was recently released, completely overhauls how players use and construct their virtual homes, bringing it closer to games like The Sims in terms of house building mechanics and features.

One of the major changes is the revamped building mode, allowing players to mix and match building layouts with prefab rooms to create unique spaces. Players can freely place furniture and decorate their homes with over 650 different items. Crafting items for the home will play a significant role, with recipes unlockable through quests and other means. Additionally, the construction skill has been expanded to level 120.

Customization is a key focus of this update, aiming to make in-game houses more inviting and personalized. Players can now add features such as a potion cauldron, gilded altars, combat practice devices, storage options, and more. They can also display their achievements and loot, including weapons, boss trophies, and archaeological finds.

The new Homestead system allows players to build their homes on a large plot of land with up to four other individuals, creating a mini neighborhood or even a communal living space. Players can utilize each other’s facilities, like one being the potion maker and another the chef. This system promotes social engagement and collaboration among players. The update is currently available in RuneScape.
