The Successful Partnership Between Hartley Engine and Nilu27

The collaboration between Hartley Engine and Nilu27 has culminated in the completion of their project to build a new naturally aspirated V12 engine, which has now entered the testing phase. The successful firing up of the engine unveiled the powerful sound that will soon be featured in the Nilu car.

At the core of this achievement lies a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated 80-degree V12 engine designed to deliver a classic driving experience in a modern automotive landscape dominated by screens, software, and electrification. With a large bore and short stroke, the engine boasts high revving capabilities, sharp responsiveness, and a driving sensation that prioritizes the essence of driving.

What sets this engine apart is its impressive performance during recent dyno runs. Initially projected to produce 1,070 horsepower, the engine has exceeded expectations in early testing, showcasing even greater power. The unique V12 setup features an unconventional hot V design, with exhaust gases channeled between the cylinder banks.

The Nilu project aligns with the vision of Sasha Selipanov, a seasoned designer with experience at prestigious automotive brands such as Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, and Genesis. With Nilu27, Selipanov takes a fresh approach, prioritizing driver engagement over digital complexity.

The Nilu car will feature analog instrumentation, emphasizing a direct and emotional connection between the driver, the vehicle, and the road by eliminating unnecessary technological distractions.

Currently, the new V12 engine is undergoing refinements and calibration in New Zealand before being transported to Germany for installation in Nilu27’s prototype. Early indications suggest that this hypercar program has the potential to be one of the most captivating modern automotive endeavors to follow.
