Google’s Next Pixel Phone to Cost More Than Previous Models

In a recent interview with 9to5 Google, Google’s Vice President of Devices and Services, Shakil Barkat, hinted at a price increase for the upcoming Pixel 11. This adjustment comes as a response to the current RAM supply challenges caused by the rapid growth of AI data centers. Notably, other tech giants like Apple, Microsoft, and Nintendo have also raised their prices due to rising memory costs.

Barkat acknowledged that Google had shielded consumers from supply fluctuations thus far, but the changing economics have forced a reevaluation. He mentioned that pricing for the Pixel lineup would be adjusted to match supply realities and would be implemented dynamically.

The base model Pixel 11 is anticipated to be priced at $899, offering 256GB of storage instead of the previous 128GB. Additionally, rumors suggest that the Pixel 11 Pro may see a decrease in RAM from 16GB to 12GB. The official unveiling of the next generation Pixel devices is scheduled for August 12th.
