Microsoft confirms Copilot ‘super app’ coming this year

Microsoft Developing AI Super App with Copilot Integration

In an exciting development, Microsoft is in the process of creating an AI “super app” that will combine the functionalities of Copilot’s chat, coding, and agentic capabilities. During a recent earnings call, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced that this innovative app will cater to both consumer and commercial needs upon its launch later this year.

Nadella expressed that Copilot is undergoing rapid evolution, transitioning from chat to Cowork to Autopilots. He highlighted the consolidation of these Copilot features, including code, into a unified super app. This significant advancement marks a major milestone for Microsoft, with Nadella hinting at more details to be revealed soon.

The confirmation from Nadella follows reports from Fortune earlier this year, shedding light on Microsoft’s ambitious project to integrate its Copilot chatbot, GitHub Copilot coding assistant, Copilot Cowork, and Autopilot system into a single super app. In a similar vein, OpenAI has also unveiled its ChatGPT Work app, which merges ChatGPT and its AI coding tool Codex.
