Gordon Murray Special Vehicles Unveils S1 Supercar at The Quail

Gordon Murray Special Vehicles has recently introduced their latest creation, the S1 supercar, at The Quail event held during Monterey Car Week. This new model, based on the S1 LM platform, offers a more touring-oriented approach while still upholding the engineering principles of its more extreme counterpart.

The centerpiece of the S1 is its unique 4.2-liter naturally aspirated Cosworth V12 engine, capable of generating a maximum output of 690 PS and achieving an impressive redline of 12,100 rpm. What sets it apart is the inclusion of a manual gearbox, providing drivers with a hands-on driving experience that is increasingly rare in modern supercars.

Gordon Murray has optimized the engine to deliver more accessible torque, making the S1 well-suited for long-distance journeys without compromising its performance characteristics.

While the S1 shares its fundamental design elements with the S1 LM, it features completely redesigned exterior panels that give it a distinct identity.

The S1 comes equipped with new active aerodynamics, updated suspension, and enhanced comfort features in the cabin, catering to a more luxurious and comfortable touring experience.

This unique combination makes the S1 an appealing choice for enthusiasts. It offers the thrill of a powerful V12 engine and manual transmission while being designed to be more practical for everyday driving compared to a hardcore track-focused machine.
