Enhanced Mortal Shell 2: Updated with New Beacons, Items, and Improved Riposte Damage Scaling
Exciting Updates for Mortal Shell 2 Players
It’s been a little over a week since the launch of Mortal Shell 2, a game that received high praise from Jeremy. However, the developers have been hard at work with the release of the game’s first major update, bringing a host of new features and improvements.
One of the key additions in this update is the introduction of new items such as fragile tarstones and glimpse stones. Fragile tarstones are a new class of tarstone that breaks after losing durability, while glimpse stones wear down as you defeat enemies and then break into glimpses. Additionally, players can now acquire Egon’s stone, which revives them at the entrance of a dungeon at the cost of its durability, ensuring that no gloom is lost upon death.
Exploring the world of Mortal Shell 2 has also become more rewarding, with the addition of more beacons in Fainweald and Mammon. These beacons are only active during the day and help players navigate the world more easily. Various new items have been scattered throughout the world, and problematic chests have been reset. Players can also discover cosmetic headpieces like a hand-stitched frog or a potato sack with an eyehole after completing certain questlines.
Ripostes, a key gameplay mechanic, have also received significant improvements. Riposte damage now scales with enemy health, making new game plus and night mode less punishing. Player riposte recoveries end sooner, leading to faster control return. Riposte damage calculation has been refined to prevent cases of double or no damage application. Invulnerability windows during ripostes have been made consistent and last through the end of the animation.
Enemy tracking and magnetism maximums have been adjusted to be more forgiving, with ongoing tweaks planned in future patches. Numerous cutscenes and enemy-heavy areas have been optimized for better performance. The update includes a plethora of other fixes, tweaks, and additions, detailed in the full patch notes.
