BMW has upgraded the estimated range and introduced a $950 Convenience Package for the i5, maintaining its starting price.

A series of updates introduced last year made the BMW i5 an attractive choice, with the price remaining consistent. For the 2027 model year, the price remains unchanged, with minor shuffling of options and the addition of a Convenience Package. The i5 is set to undergo a significant refresh next year, maintaining its current appeal.

2027 BMW i5 Electric Motor and Performance

The 2027 BMW i5 lineup consists of three models. The entry-level i5 eDrive40, with 335 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. The xDrive40 model offers a power increase to 389 horsepower and 435 pound-feet of torque, reducing the sprint time to 5.2 seconds. The top-tier M60 variant features dual motors with all-wheel drive, producing 590 horsepower and 586 pound-feet of torque, enabling a 3.7-second 0-60 mph acceleration.

2027 BMW i5 Charging and Range

No hardware modifications have been made to the i5, but BMW has revised the estimated range. The eDrive40 model now achieves between 280 and 328 miles on a full charge, while the xDrive and M60 models see slight range improvements. Charging capabilities include up to 11.5 kW on AC power and a maximum of 205 kW on DC fast charging, with a 30-minute charge from 10 to 80 percent. All new i5s come equipped with an NACS charging port as of March 2026.

Interior and Cargo Space

The 2027 BMW i5 now offers a new Convenience Package priced at $950, which includes a heated steering wheel and Parking Assistant Plus. Leather upholstery remains an optional feature, with no new color options available. Additional packages such as the Luxury Seating Package and four-zone automatic climate control offer enhanced comfort and convenience.
