Amazon Luna Levels Up: Enhanced Multiplayer Capabilities and Free Games Added to Gaming Service

Amazon’s cloud-based gaming service Luna has rolled out its September update, featuring a new Remote Play feature that allows up to 7 players to join the same gaming session remotely.

Since its relaunch earlier this year, Luna has focused on multiplayer games and the casual gaming market. With an active Amazon Prime subscription, users can access Luna directly from the Prime Video app and stream a variety of games to their TV, browser, or tablet using Amazon’s cloud servers.

The platform offers around 60 casual-friendly multiplayer games, some of which are exclusive to Luna. The new Remote Play feature changes the multiplayer gaming experience by enabling one player to invite up to 7 others to join a game remotely, as long as they have an Amazon account and a compatible device.

Two new games have been added to Luna’s library to take advantage of Remote Play, including a mobile version of the board game King of Tokyo.

In addition to the new feature, Luna now offers access to two recent games from Ubisoft: Star Wars: Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Amazon has not disclosed user data for Luna post-relaunch, but the service aims to attract gaming audiences by providing popular games on various devices through cloud streaming.
