2027 Toyota Fortuner Spotted Once More in Thailand: Sneak Peek at the Latest Model
The upcoming iteration of the Toyota Fortuner has once again been spotted during testing in Thailand, hinting at its anticipated release next year. The new model, which takes cues from the HiLux, is expected to share several similarities with its predecessor.
Based on leaked images shared on Instagram by kurdistan_automotive_blog_, the 2027 Fortuner showcases a more modern design with revamped front and rear sections. The front fascia boasts squarer headlights framing a two-part grille with a distinctive V-shaped insert. Additionally, the redesigned front end appears to feature sharper fenders with more defined creases.
While the overall structure of the car, including the doors and wing mirrors, seems to be carried over from the current model, the side steps appear to be updated. The rear of the vehicle has been restyled with refined detailing, particularly in the tailgate area. The tail-lights are expected to sport a unique segmented design arranged in an L-shape, extending across the width of the car.
The new Fortuner is likely to follow the lead of the latest HiLux in terms of drivetrain options. This includes a 2.7-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine producing 120kW and a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine generating 150kW. Some markets may also offer a 175kW V6 and a 144kW electric drivetrain.
Despite its limited success in Australia, where sales have been modest compared to the Prado, the Fortuner remains popular in other regions such as Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Although the model was discontinued in Australia in 2025, it continues to be a budget-friendly seven-seat SUV in various markets.
