Toyota recalls over 100,000 Land Cruiser SUVs in the US

Toyota Recalls Over 100,000 Land Cruiser SUVs Due to Fuel Leak Concerns

Toyota has issued a recall for more than 100,000 Land Cruiser SUVs in the United States due to a potential fuel leak that poses a fire hazard. This recall affects a total of 105,794 units of the 2024-2027 Land Cruiser model, marking it as one of the larger campaigns for the current J250-generation SUV.

The issue at hand revolves around a retaining clip that connects the fuel tubes between the tank and engine. If this clip becomes dislodged, it could result in fuel leakage from the resin tube attached to the fuel tank.

Toyota has reported receiving 23 field reports and 64 warranty claims related to this issue. However, the exact number of vehicles affected by this defect remains unknown at this time.

Fortunately, the solution to this problem is relatively simple. Authorized dealers will conduct inspections on the fuel-tube connection and add an additional clamp as necessary. In cases where required, the resin fuel tube will be replaced to ensure safety.

Owners can expect to receive notification letters regarding this recall by December 13. As with all safety recalls, the necessary repairs will be carried out free of charge.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing situation.
