Quantum Systems Triples Valuation with €180 Million Series C Extension

Munich-based Quantum Systems has recently seen a significant boost in its valuation, having raised €180 million in a Series C Extension led by Balderton Capital. This funding round aims to accelerate the development of the company’s AI, software, and hardware in various domains, all connected by the multi-domain mission software MOSAIC UXS.

Earlier this year, Quantum Systems secured €160 million in a Series C round, bringing its total funding for 2025 to €340 million. This milestone marks the largest private capital raise in Europe’s dual-use sector, pushing the company’s valuation above €3 billion.

Co-CEO and Co-founder of Quantum Systems, Florian Seibel, expressed excitement about the company’s achievement of “triple unicorn status” and emphasized the team’s commitment to building systems that excel in real-world conditions. The focus now is on accelerating development in hardware, software, and AI to establish Quantum Systems as a leading force in multi-domain unmanned systems.

European Unmanned Systems Funding Landscape in 2025

Quantum Systems’ substantial funding is part of a larger trend in the European dual-use and unmanned systems sector. Other notable funding rounds in 2025 include Switzerland’s General Intuition securing €114 million, Poland-based Orbotix closing €6.5 million, Lithuania’s Monopulse obtaining €1.12 million, Munich-based Project Q raising €7.5 million, and France’s Rift securing €4.6 million.

Combined, these companies represent approximately €133 million in funding for 2025. Quantum Systems’ €340 million raise positions it as a significant player in the European unmanned systems landscape.

The company operates within an ecosystem that sees ongoing investment in aerial autonomy, defense AI, sensor integration platforms, and UAV manufacturing. Notable activities from other startups, such as Project Q in Munich, contribute to the overall growth of the sector.

Co-CEO Sven Kruck highlighted Quantum Systems’ goal of becoming a powerhouse in intelligent unmanned systems and expanding globally across different domains to support Europe, NATO, and their allies.

Quantum Systems’ Growth and Impact

Founded in 2015, Quantum Systems has emerged as a key player in Europe’s unmanned systems sector. With a workforce of up to 1,000 employees across multiple countries, including Germany, Ukraine, the US, Australia, Romania, the UK, and the Baltic states, the company is committed to global growth in hardware, software, and AI.

Following earlier funding rounds, Quantum Systems has already acquired and integrated AirRobot, Nordic Unmanned, and Spleenlab. The additional capital will support strategic acquisitions aimed at enhancing the company’s multi-domain offerings.

Balderton Capital, the lead investor in Quantum Systems’ Series C Extension, emphasized the importance of European sovereignty in defense and dual-use technology. The partnership aims to support Quantum Systems in leading the global unmanned systems category.

Quantum Systems’ platforms and software are currently deployed by NATO forces and in various countries worldwide, including Ukraine, where its fleet has been operational since the onset of the full-scale invasion in 2022.
