Introducing the Toyota GR GT: A New Era of Sports Cars

Toyota Gazoo Racing has unveiled the highly anticipated GR GT sports car, marking a significant milestone in the automotive world. This flagship model was showcased as a pre-production prototype alongside the GR GT3 race car, promising a blend of performance and innovation.

The Toyota GR GT is set to uphold the legacy of legendary vehicles such as the 2000GT and Lexus LFA. Notably, Lexus has also introduced its new flagship model, the Lexus LFA Concept, based on the same platform as the GR GT.

Characterized by a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, the GR GT boasts a powerful 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain with dry-sump lubrication and a rear-mounted transaxle, embodying the essence of a road-legal race car.

Constructed on an all-aluminum chassis, a first for Toyota, the GR GT features carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) body panels. The design prioritizes aerodynamics, collaborating with aerodynamic engineers and exterior designers to strike a balance between performance and aesthetics. The interior is meticulously crafted to optimize the driving experience.

The heart of the GR GT lies a potent 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine coupled with a single electric motor, producing a combined output exceeding 640 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the car can achieve speeds exceeding 200 mph.

The suspension system features double wishbones with coil springs on all corners, complemented by carbon ceramic disc brakes for enhanced performance.

Enthusiasts can anticipate the Toyota GR GT to hit the market around 2027, offering a thrilling driving experience unlike any other.
