Toyota Unveils New High-Performance Sports Car GR GT at Tokyo Auto Salon

Toyota recently introduced its latest high-performance sports car, the GR GT, on a global scale at the prestigious Tokyo Auto Salon. The unveiling of the GR GT, alongside its racing counterpart, the GR GT3, captivated audiences with a dynamic showcase of speed and style.

Toyota Dominates Tokyo Auto Salon with GR GT

At this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon, Toyota made a significant impact with the GR GT taking the center stage. The event featured static displays of the GR GT and GR GT3, as well as thrilling live demonstrations on a makeshift track outside the main hall. Spectators were treated to showcases of the cars’ straight-line performance and skid pan maneuvers.

GR GT vs. GT3 Sound Performance

While the new Toyota GR GT impressed onlookers with its sleek design, some felt that the exhaust note could have been more pronounced. In contrast, the GT3 version garnered praise for its superior sound quality, creating a more exhilarating auditory experience for enthusiasts.

Powertrain Specifications

The road version of the GR GT features a robust 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine combined with a single electric motor, delivering an impressive 640 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. This power is managed by an 8-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the GT3 race car adheres to GT3 specifications and utilizes the same twin-turbo V8 engine without the hybrid system.
