Hytale’s Official Release: Devs Encourage Players to Persevere Through Download Issues

Hytale's out now and its devs are advising those suffering download issues or errors to keep plugging away

The highly anticipated early access of Hytale recently launched, causing a surge of eager players trying to join in. Despite many successfully gaining access, the developers have provided guidance for those encountering error messages or download issues.

Led by Hypixel co-founder Simon Collins-Laflamme, the team behind Hytale swiftly revived the Minecraft-like sandbox game after acquiring the rights from Riot Games. Anticipating possible launch day challenges due to the influx of players, the developers’ concerns were proven valid as many encountered various errors and download issues.

While some players faced errors during the purchase process, others experienced difficulties downloading the game through the launcher. The Hytale team is actively working on solutions, advising players to restart the launcher if downloads are stuck or showing errors. They also mentioned that global distribution is still ongoing, so players may need to retry downloading.

In response to the influx of error messages on Discord, Hytale’s technical director, Slikey, encouraged players to reach out for assistance. Although there isn’t a designated support channel on the server, players have been seeking help and sharing bug-fixing tips in the general game discussion channel.

For those encountering issues, it is recommended to wait for an hour or two for the situation to stabilize before attempting to join the game. Alternatively, watching a modder play Doom in Hytale could be a temporary distraction. Additionally, a guide for installing Doom on the Steam Deck is available for players needing assistance.

Overall, while the early access launch of Hytale has faced challenges, the developers are actively addressing issues to ensure a smooth gaming experience for all players. Stay patient and keep an eye on official announcements for updates on resolving any technical difficulties.
