The 2026 Paris Motor Show: A Glimpse into BMW’s Future

Auto shows have long been a staple of the automotive industry, and while some may be losing their relevance, a select few continue to shine brightly even in 2026. One such event is the Paris Motor Show, a venerable institution with a history dating back to 1898. As the automotive world gears up for the 91st edition of this prestigious show, BMW Group has already confirmed its attendance, promising an exciting lineup at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles exhibition center.

Scheduled to take place from October 12–18, the 2026 Paris Motor Show will be a showcase for BMW, MINI, and Motorrad. Notably absent will be Rolls-Royce, a brand that typically eschews traditional auto shows. Additionally, BMW ALPINA has now transitioned into a standalone brand within the BMW Group, warranting separate consideration.

While specific details about the models to be unveiled at the show remain under wraps, enthusiasts can expect a glimpse into BMW’s future. The highly anticipated new i3 (NA0) is set to make its debut this year, preceding the next-generation 3 Series (G50).

Among the anticipated highlights at the show is the facelifted 7 Series (G70) and a possible return of the ALPINA B7 under a new name and chassis code, the G72. This model is expected to feature inline-six and V8 engines, as well as ALPINA’s first electric vehicle.

On the SUV front, BMW is preparing to unveil the fifth-generation X5 (G65) and the fully electric iX5. Additionally, BMW M enthusiasts can look forward to a Track Package for the M2 and possibly an xDrive variant.

With a plethora of new models on the horizon, it is likely that a selection will make their debut at the Paris Motor Show in October. This event alternates annually with the IAA Mobility Show, where the new iX3 was revealed last September. Notably, the Vision Neue Klasse and Vision Neue Klasse X concepts were showcased together in Paris a year prior, with the former now set to materialize as the i3 sedan.

As the automotive world eagerly anticipates the 2026 Paris Motor Show, one thing is certain – exciting times lie ahead for BMW and its loyal enthusiasts.
