Reports from sources like Ming-Chi Kuo suggested that the M5 Pro/Max would feature a new packaging design, separating the CPU and GPU components using TSMC’s SoIC-mH technology, which stands for “Molding Horizontal.” This innovative approach is expected to offer superior thermal performance and production efficiency, potentially enabling a wider range of CPU and GPU configurations in Apple’s top-tier systems.
