Capture the Moment: Halide’s Film-Inspired Camera App with Enhanced Editing Features
Lux Optics Releases Halide Mark III Camera App with Exciting New Features
Lux Optics has recently unveiled the latest version of its Halide camera app for Apple devices, following its initial announcement in December 2024. The Halide Mark III app introduces a brand new film simulation engine along with five new Looks designed for various photography styles such as landscapes, portraits, cityscapes, and a black-and-white option complete with film grain effects. Developed in collaboration with renowned Hollywood colorist Cullen Kelly, these new features aim to enhance the creative capabilities of iPhone and iPad users.
Halide Mark III Now Available on the App Store
Photography enthusiasts can now access Halide Mark III on the App Store for a one-time purchase price of $59.99 or opt for a $19.99/year subscription. Customers who previously owned Halide Mark II will receive the latest version as a free upgrade. The app is compatible with iPhones running iOS 18 or later and iPads running iPadOS 18 or later.
Enhanced Photo Editing Experience with Halide Mark III
Despite the limited camera capabilities of Apple’s tablets, Halide Mark III introduces a new feature called Photo Lab that benefits from the larger screen real estate. This streamlined photo editor offers a Quick Edit section for applying Looks, adjusting HDR settings, and tweaking exposure levels. Users can also access advanced editing controls for cropping, aspect ratio, white balance, and a Tone Fusion tool to enhance shadow and highlight details.
Furthermore, Halide Mark III now supports the processing of RAW images from various camera brands such as Sony, Nikon, Canon, Fujifilm, Hasselblad, and Leica. This new capability, although currently in beta, expands the app’s versatility and appeal to professional photographers and enthusiasts alike.
Improved User Interface and Customization Options
In addition to these feature upgrades, Halide Mark III boasts a redesigned interface that prioritizes easy access to essential controls while providing a seamless user experience. Advanced options are now accessible through a convenient iOS three-dot menu, allowing for a more intuitive and personalized editing workflow. Users who prefer the previous interface of Halide Mark II can easily switch back to it at any time, ensuring flexibility and user satisfaction.
