Arizona Sunshine Non-VR Rework Set to Launch on Multiple Platforms

The highly-anticipated flatscreen version of Arizona Sunshine is scheduled to release on January 21st for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC. The game, which was a VR hit, will now be available for players who prefer traditional gaming experiences.

The standard edition of the game will be priced at 24.99 USD / 21.99 GBP, while a Deluxe Edition will also be offered at 29.99 USD / 24.99 GBP. The Deluxe Edition includes the Legacy DLC Pack, featuring the original Arizona Sunshine VR Legacy campaign, Dead Man DLC, The Damned DLC, Neon Wastelander Pack, and Fred’s Fashion Pack.

Arizona Sunshine gained popularity for its immersive first-person VR shooting mechanics set against a zombie-infested backdrop. Players assume the role of Sunny, a survivor with a dark sense of humor who embarks on a journey across Arizona, encountering the undead and making unlikely friendships along the way.

The non-VR version will support both online and couch co-op for two players, allowing for an engaging multiplayer experience. Players can team up with a friend or play alongside Buddy, the loyal four-legged companion.

While the transition from VR to flatscreen gaming is not entirely new, Arizona Sunshine’s move is significant in the current gaming landscape. With major players like Sony shifting focus away from VR and towards AR/XR technologies, traditional VR experiences are becoming less common.

Several VR-exclusive developers are now adapting their games for non-VR platforms, signaling a shift in the industry. The move towards flatscreen gaming opens up new opportunities for developers and players alike.
