Changes at Bungie: Joe Ziegler Steps Down as Game Director

Following recent layoffs at Bungie and the upcoming mid-season 2 Marathon patch, game director Joe Ziegler has announced his departure from the studio. Del Chafe III will be taking over his role, transitioning from his previous position as assistant game director.
In a heartfelt statement, Ziegler shared, “Today, Friday 7/17, will be my last day at Bungie. I am passing the torch of Game Director to the very capable hands of Del Chafe III, who will lead the game alongside Creative Director Julia Nardin. Both of them have shown strong leadership within the team and are ready to steer Marathon towards an even brighter future. I am proud of them and excited to see what they have in store for this world we have created together.”
