DOD Solution Secures €1.8 Million Pre-Seed Funding Round for AURA AI Autonomy Platform

DOD Solution, a DefenceTech company based in Estonia and Ukraine, specializing in onboard autonomy for unmanned systems, has successfully closed a pre-Seed funding round of €1.8 million ($2.1 million). This funding will be instrumental in accelerating the development and scaling of its AURA AI autonomy platform.

The round saw participation from Angel One Fund, Better Angle, Defence Builder Fund, Network VC, Newfund, UAID Fund, WildField Ventures, and 4C-Next Holding AG. Additionally, Canadian drone technology company Draganfly joined as a strategic investor.

“Autonomy needs to be adaptable across various unmanned systems and operational environments, rather than being limited to a single platform. Our primary focus now is to enhance the integration, scalability, and performance of AURA AI to support increasingly complex onboard applications. This funding round provides us with the resources and the right partners to expedite this transition,” stated Roman Hapachylo, CEO of DOD Solution.

This pre-Seed round for DOD Solution comes at a time of significant investment in European drone autonomy and unmanned-systems technology in 2026.

EU-Startups has reported on notable financings in the sector, including investments of €1.8 million for Cambridge-based Mutable Tactics, €3 million for London’s Occam Industries, €12 million for Norway’s Six Robotics, €2 million for Lithuania’s PDKINEMATICS, and €4.4 million for Dutch drone-software company AirHub. Finland’s Kelluu also secured a €15 million Series A funding round.

In Estonia, DOD Solution’s home market, Tallinn-based Frankenburg Technologies raised €30 million for missile and counter-drone defense capabilities, offering a local benchmark within the broader DefenceTech industry.

When combined with funding rounds for WaiV Robotics and INLEAP Photonics, the total investment in 2026 amounts to approximately €70 million, with DOD Solution’s round contributing €1.8 million to the overall total.

Established in 2023, DOD Solution specializes in developing onboard computers and autonomy systems for unmanned platforms. The company collaborates with manufacturers of unmanned platforms to integrate AI-powered autonomy in defense applications.

AURA AI, the flagship product of DOD Solution, is an onboard autonomy platform that combines the AURA SBC onboard computer with AURA OS, the company’s autonomy software stack. This platform facilitates autonomous navigation, perception, target recognition and tracking, and terminal guidance in situations where GPS or communications are compromised.

Designed for integration into various UAVs, including FPV drones, interceptor drones, and fixed-wing UAVs, AURA AI has already been deployed in combat operations in Ukraine.

Future Plans and Partnerships

DOD Solution has established partnerships with Lantronix, Axelera AI, and Defsecintel Solutions to enhance onboard computing, AI acceleration, and integrated counter-drone capabilities. These collaborations support the company’s efforts to expand the integration of its autonomy technology across diverse unmanned platforms.

The funding secured will be utilized to develop the next generation of AURA SBC for mass production, advance AURA OS and onboard AI capabilities, and expedite integrations with unmanned platform manufacturers in Ukraine and global markets.

The upcoming iteration of AURA SBC is being engineered to meet production scalability requirements, supported by a robust component supply chain, and aimed at achieving NDAA compliance standards. This initiative will enable DOD Solution to expand into European and North American markets.
