Expanding Horizons: Google Home Launches in 16 New Countries for Gemini

Google has revealed that its Gemini for Home voice assistant is now rolling out to a wider range of regions, including the UK, Australia, and many parts of Europe.

Previously, in October, it was announced that Google’s Gemini AI assistant would be integrated into the company’s Nest smart speakers and displays as an early access free upgrade.

This update promised significant enhancements, including improved conversational abilities and object recognition (especially for the Nest Camera).

Initially limited to the US, Canada, and Mexico, the early access rollout is now expanding to 16 new countries and seven additional languages.

The newly included countries are the UK, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland in Europe, as well as Australia, Japan, and New Zealand outside of Europe.

With the expansion comes support for Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Spanish, and Swedish languages.

The rollout has commenced and is expected to reach all eligible users and devices within the next week. Users can access early access by invitation or by enabling Gemini for Home in the Google Home app.

Google Workspace integration

In addition to the expanded availability of its intelligent voice assistant, Google has introduced a series of updates to the Google Home App.

These updates include enhanced Google Workspace integration, allowing users to invite members from different domains to their home, improved account migration, and the ability to set up Nest devices using a Workspace account.

Google has also unveiled a “Public Preview” feature that enables users to transfer all their older Nest thermostats, cameras, locks, and smoke alarms to the Google Home app simultaneously.

However, there is still no update on the launch date of the new Google Home Speaker. The initial estimate of “spring 2026” is approaching, but Google has not provided any new information.
