Google’s Solutions for Dissatisfied Fitbit Users: Addressing Concerns with the Health App
Google has responded to numerous complaints about the new Google Health app that replaced Fitbit, announcing a series of updates that will be rolled out starting this week.
One of the major issues users had was with the Today dashboard, which only displayed users’ chosen health metrics in the top half of the screen. Google plans to address this by allowing users to easily customize their Today and Health dashboards, enabling them to rearrange or add/remove metrics as they see fit.
In addition to addressing user feedback, Google Health will also introduce new features and quality-of-life improvements. This includes the ability to view, create, and log custom food items, as well as the addition of charts for hourly step goals on the Today and Health tabs. Furthermore, a new 24-hour total sleep overview will display both main sleep and naps.
One of the most controversial features of Google Health is the AI coach, which has received mixed reviews. While some users find the AI-generated messages helpful, others have criticized the need to scroll through long paragraphs of AI advice to access their health data.
Google has announced that adjustments will be made to the AI-generated messages in the Today tab in the near future. Additionally, several other improvements are in the works to enhance the user experience.
Overall, Google is actively working to address user concerns and improve the functionality of the Google Health app. With these upcoming changes, users can expect a more personalized and user-friendly experience when tracking their health and wellness goals.
