MSI Unveils New Claw 8 Handheld Gaming PC with Intel Arc G3 Extreme Processor

MSI has recently announced the launch of the new Claw 8 handheld gaming PC, set to be showcased at the upcoming Computex 2026 show. The standout feature of this model is the replacement of its predecessors’ Intel Lunar Lake mobile chip with the highly specialized Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor. According to MSI, the Claw 8 EX AI Plus is the “world’s first” handheld device to incorporate this cutting-edge processor, which boasts an array of Xe3 GPU cores specifically designed for gaming.

While competitors like Acer Predator Atlas 8 and OneXPlayer 3 are also set to release handhelds with the same chips, MSI appears to be leading the pack with the Claw 8 EX AI Plus. This new model is equipped with a single NVME M.2 SSD slot for gaming and data storage, supporting up to 32GB of dual-channel LPDDR5x memory. However, specific RAM configurations have not yet been disclosed. As for the launch date and pricing details, they are yet to be revealed, but the previous MSI Claw 8 AI Plus was priced at $1,000 upon its release last year.

The MSI Claw 8 EX AI Plus features an eight-inch 1920 x 1200 touchscreen display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Its redesigned chassis includes updated grips for enhanced comfort during extended gaming sessions, along with Hall effect triggers and sticks for improved control precision. MSI has introduced a new high-end linear motor for faster and enhanced haptic feedback, as well as “improved power efficiency,” although the battery life remains unspecified.

Available in a single color option described as “Void Purple,” the MSI Claw 8 EX AI Plus promises an exciting gaming experience. With enhanced features and performance upgrades, MSI aims to redeem itself after its initial unsuccessful attempt at delivering a powerful gaming handheld.
