The Next Chapter of the Bentley Bentayga

As the automotive world eagerly anticipates the debut of the 2028 Bentley Bentayga, it is clear that this luxury SUV is set to make a significant impact. While initial plans had revolved around a fully electric model, the latest reports indicate a shift towards a high-performance Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) instead.

Originally slated to be built on the Volkswagen Group’s advanced SSP architecture, unforeseen delays – largely attributed to Porsche’s decision to postpone its ’61’ platform – have prompted Bentley to reevaluate its approach. Consequently, the upcoming Bentayga will be utilizing the PPC platform, which is currently shared with the latest Porsche Cayenne and the soon-to-be-released Audi Q9.

The 2028 iteration of the Bentley Bentayga is expected to boast a sophisticated plug-in hybrid system centered around a 3.0-liter V6 engine. This setup is projected to deliver performance comparable to the current 456 bhp Bentayga PHEV, albeit with an enhanced electric-only driving range.

When it comes to design, the new Bentayga will draw inspiration from the futuristic EXP 15 concept, signaling a shift towards a more dynamic and modern aesthetic. Advanced features such as air suspension, active ride control, and cutting-edge driver assistance technologies are also likely to be included in this next-generation PHEV luxury SUV.
