2026 Toyota LandCruiser Hybrid prices: New ‘performance hybrid’ variants are the priciest, most powerful LandCruisers ever

Toyota has officially announced the pricing for the highly-anticipated Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series ‘performance hybrid’ in Australia. The new model, featuring a twin-turbocharged 3.4-litre petrol V6 ‘i-Force Max’ hybrid powertrain, is available in the GR Sport and Sahara ZX trim levels, which are the top-tier options in the LandCruiser 300 Series lineup.

The GR Sport hybrid is priced at $156,060 before on-road costs, while the Sahara ZX hybrid comes in at $156,810 before on-road costs. These prices represent an increase of $8900 compared to their V6 diesel-powered counterparts. The new hybrid variants are set to go on sale in Australia mid-year.

The performance hybrid powertrain, also found in the Tundra pickup, combines a twin-turbo 3.4-litre petrol V6 with a single electric motor-generator and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The system delivers total outputs of 341kW of power and 790Nm of torque, surpassing the diesel V6 engine in the rest of the 300 Series lineup.

In addition to the hybrid powertrain, the performance hybrid versions of the 300 Series feature upgrades such as electric power steering assistance, an enhanced rear auxiliary power outlet, and a versatile rear seat configuration. These variants are only available with a five-seat layout, similar to the diesel GR Sport and Sahara ZX models.

The hybrid LandCruiser retains its full-time four-wheel drive system, with additional features like a Torsen limited-slip rear differential in the Sahara ZX and locking front and rear differentials with electronically controlled E-KDSS suspension in the GR Sport. The towing capacity remains at 3500kg, and fuel economy figures for the Australian market are yet to be announced.

Toyota Australia is offering a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty for the hybrid LandCruiser, along with capped-price servicing for the first five years or 100,000km. The company emphasizes that the new hybrid powertrain is designed to enhance performance, especially for off-road adventures and towing heavy loads.

Overall, the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series ‘performance hybrid’ represents a significant advancement in power and capability for the iconic 4WD SUV. With its innovative hybrid powertrain and premium features, the GR Sport and Sahara ZX variants offer the ultimate performance in a luxury SUV package.
