Making the Switch: Why I’m Trading in My Fitbit for the Garmin Cirqa
Recently, the Fitbit Air made its debut as the first major competitor in the market, accompanied by a revamped Google Health app. My experience with the Air has been fantastic, using it consistently to manage my fitness amidst freelance work and caring for a baby.
As a fan of Garmin smartwatches, particularly the Garmin Venu X1, I was curious about Garmin’s take on the concept. After trying out the Cirqa, I found three compelling reasons why it has replaced the Fitbit Air on my wrist.

It fulfills the “no subscription” promise
While the Whoop Strap requires a subscription for full functionality, the Fitbit Air’s lack of such a requirement and reasonable price make it appealing. However, to unlock its full potential, users must subscribe to the Google Health Coach service for an additional cost.
In contrast, the Garmin Cirqa provides a comprehensive fitness tracking experience with advanced features. Similar to Garmin watches, it offers detailed workout insights, including sweat loss estimates and workout intensity levels.
