Neurable’s Next Move: Bringing Mind-Reading Tech to Consumer Wearables
Neurable, a company specializing in non-invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) technology, is making waves in the tech industry by offering mind-reading technology for consumer wearables. Unlike firms like Neuralink, Neurable’s product does not require users to undergo brain surgery to access its benefits.
Using a combination of EEG sensors and signal processing, Neurable’s technology can scan a user’s brain activity, analyze it with AI, and provide insights into cognitive performance. Recently, the company secured $35 million in funding to scale the commercialization of its technology and announced plans to license it to various consumer-facing companies.
The goal is to integrate mind-reading technology into wearables across different industries, including health, athletics, productivity, and gaming. Through Neurable’s licensing platform, OEMs can incorporate AI-powered brain-sensing technology into existing hardware such as headphones, hats, glasses, and headbands while maintaining control over design, user experience, and distribution.
Neurable has already formed partnerships with companies like HP Inc.’s HyperX and iMotions to test the effectiveness of its technology. These collaborations have led to the development of products like a gaming headset designed to enhance focus and performance. CEO Ramses Alcaide revealed that the company is looking to expand its partnerships across various domains to further demonstrate the commercial applications of its technology.
Despite the intimacy of brain data, Neurable ensures user privacy by protecting and anonymizing data according to HIPAA standards. The company’s privacy policy outlines guidelines for accessing and using user data responsibly. When it comes to training its AI software, Neurable only leverages neural data with user consent and in a targeted manner for specific experiments.
Alcaide believes that the neuro-technology industry is at an inflection point with a scalable business model in place. The future beyond this point remains uncertain, but Neurable is focused on scaling its operations to make mind-reading technology as ubiquitous as heart rate sensors. With a commitment to privacy and responsible data usage, Neurable is poised to lead the way in BCI technology innovation.
