Persistent Battery Issues: Google’s Pixel 9 & 10 Bug Fix Still Fails for Some Users
Google Pixel Bug Fixes and Updates
In its latest July update, Google has claimed to have successfully fixed a bug affecting the Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 series phones. This bug, which caused idle battery drain issues, is now marked as ‘Fixed’ on Google’s IssueTracker platform.
However, Pixel 8a and Pixel 9a owners will have to wait until the September Quarterly Platform Release for their respective fixes to be implemented.
Despite Google’s claims of bug fixes, there are lingering doubts about the effectiveness of the July update. Android Authority has noted that the changelog for the update does not specifically mention the resolution of the idle battery drain problem, making it challenging to ascertain the exact changes made.
Furthermore, reports of continued battery drain issues post-update have surfaced. Users on the Google Pixel Reddit page have reported ongoing excessive battery drain problems with their devices.
The Pixel series has faced a tumultuous year with various bugs plaguing the devices. The recent rollout of Android 17 has also introduced a new set of bugs, adding to the challenges faced by Google Pixel users.
